    Very good

The hotel was fabulous but our room looked like the servant's room. The furniture was old and shaby unlike the common areas (library and halls) which were dashing.

I liked being treated as a person by the staff, not just a booking number as in some Hotels, they could not do any more to make me feel more welcome.

Very pleasant atmosphere with comfortable room, great food, real log fire and helpful staff. The hotel is in its own grounds surrounded by trees and was very relaxing, yet within city suburbs. Huge shower tray and very pleasant soap sets. Free WiFi.

The luxurious bedroom was in a new wing that used two separate lifts to get to it. The lifts were at opposite ends of a corridor. A staircase was available instead of the first lift, but I was not aware of a staircase as an alternative to the second lift. The foor height was just one level both times, but the floor labelling was different and confusing. I think the middle floor was a '2' on the first lift going up, but a '3' on the second lift. Going down (or was it the other way round?) However it was well signed, so you do get used to it, but it seemed initially confusing! May be a problem for people who do not like lifts. On check-out the bill was wrong and did not allow for the special room rate, so that caused a small problem, but it was soon resolved. There was a problem with the overflow from the shower tray and a pool developed on the bathroom floor. I think this was due to poor commissioning of a new facility. Again the problem was resolved, but it should not have happened in a hotel of this class in the first place!

    Fabulous

I always like this hotel, the bedroom is so relaxing, with a high degree of comfort. Bathroom is perfect.. large and comfortable, plenty of hot water for bath and or shower. Bed is very high spec, and extremely comfortable. Breakfast is nice and plentiful and really 'Scottish' I highly recommend this hotel although I shouldn't as I think it is the best kept secret in Aberdeen

Regretfully, I am not great friends with the restaurant here as I have been disappointed more that once. Maybe I was unlucky but I think next time I will dine elsewhere.

It was very welcoming to step in through the front door to be met with the warmth and smell of log fires. Reception staff were very friendly and efficient. Our room was modern, comfortable and quiet with an excellent shower. Dinner was very good and the restaurant and the bar were lovely wood-panelled rooms. Highly recommended.

The bed! I like a firm bed, but this was like sleeping on a table! I did mention it to Reception after our first night, but nothing was done. The only demerit in an otherwise wonderful stay.

    Very good

After checking in and using the restaurant for the first day the restaurant manager greeted me by my name two days later having not seen me in the interim period. It gave the impression of attention to detail and customer focused attentiveness. Free WiFi also a plus.

Lack of leisure facilities (gym, pool)

The staff were so friendly & welcoming & those responsible for room cleanliness & servicing plus keeping the cosy log fires burning were also to be commended. The entire staff made our stay worthwhile & the food was delicious. Our room was very comfortable & not really " Hotel-ish" at all.Yes, we would go back again & would certainly recommend it to anyone who want's a quiet relaxing break .

Rooms are very clean, staff are friendly and helpful, hotel is located in a nice location a few miles from Aberdeen city centre. The breakfast choice and quality is very good.

I didn't use the restaurant for evening meals as it is very expensive, and the menu is pretentious and lacking in choice.

The main hall of the hotel is first rate we were lucky to have an upgrade room above the small reception in the hall very smart !

Would have liked a bar menue with more competative prices ! and at least one chicken dish. We decided to eat in the resturant with a very small price difference. Wine is overpriced ?. However food first rate and well served.

We stayed for our sons graduation. We have always stayed at Norwood when we visit Aberdeen. We have found the staff friendly and helpful and the food excellent. The only downside is that the decor is very gloomy and makes the place darker still. We would stay there again.

    Fabulous

We attended a friends wedding. The hotel and location was perfect.

The price of soft drinks was absolutely outrageous and so was the alcoholic drinks but in particular the soft drinks. Also the function room toilets were not replenished with toilet rolls all day and I have to ask the staff to do it. At such an exclusive hotel you would expect this to happen as part of their duties. Not impressed. Also I booked a Junior Suite but Norwood Hall had me booked into an Executive Room. Luckily they had one free and changed it.

    Fabulous

Good location if your planning to visit both Aberdeen city and the surrounding countryside. Set in attractive grounds the historic building has many original and impressive features while the rooms have been modernised with quality bathrooms and fittings. Reception staff were particularly helpful and welcoming.

Breakfast was a little slow and disorganised, but there was a good choice.

    Good

They didn't have my reservation when I arrived. The door on my room failed and delayed me by 30 mins. They didn't replenish my complimentary water until I asked. They forgot to return a call to me after I made a request. I asked for additional tea bags in my room to be told they didn't have any. They forgot me at breakfast and didn't take my order until I asked. All in all the attention to detail is appalling! A very impressive building and location let down by poor customer attention.
